To the Cornwall School District Community:
The Cornwall Board of Education would like to assure the community that the Cornwall Central School District conducted an immediate and thorough investigation of the incident leading to the recent termination of an employee. The investigation included several meetings for the employee to present her response to the concerns raised, at which times she was represented by her union and attorney. In the end, it was decided that the termination of the employee was in the best interests of the district and its students.
We acknowledge the concerns of the community regarding the incident and the termination and encourage community members to take care in considering the information they are reading and hearing. Unfortunately, state and federal laws prohibit the district and the BOE from discussing in detail matters concerning the termination of employees and the privacy of students.
We appreciate and request the continued support of the community.
Sincerely,
Brendan G. Coyne
President
Cornwall BOE
