Monday, January 28
10:16 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Angola Road to a 22-year-old male from Warwick.

10:36 a.m.  Police take a report of a red-colored cat missing from a home on Manor Drive since January 24.

10:39 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 60-year-old female from New Windsor.
10:40 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Cornwall Veterinary Hospital on Route 32.

11:41 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 23-year-old male from Marlboro.

12:58 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 20-year-old male from New Windsor.

1:25 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on Route 32 in which both drivers went to Cornwall hospital.

2:30 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Shore Drive to a 24-year-old male from New Windsor.

4:09 p.m.  Police remove two solicitors for DARE America from the area outside the CVS store until they obtain a permit from the town.

7:29 p.m.  Police issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Mount Airy Road to a 60-year-old male from New Rochelle.


Tuesday, January 29
9:43 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Angola Road to a 24-year-old female from Cornwall.

11:07 a.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle parked at the train station.

1:03 p.m.  Police investigate a report of road rage on Main Street.

1:43 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 38-year-old male from Highland Mills.

1:46 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving two cars at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Route 9W.


Wednesday, January 30, 2008
8:47 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on Route 9W and arrest one of the drivers, a 38-year-old male from Newburgh, for driving with a suspended license.

9:17 a.m.  Police respond to Angola Road for a report of a vehicle’s window that was shattered by what appeared to be a BB, which also left a small round dent on the door.

12:25 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Continental Road to a 46-year-old male from Cornwall.

1:16 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute that occurred inside a vehicle on Route 32 that began with a verbal argument between two brothers and escalated to punches.

4:34 p.m.  Police arrest two teenage girls, a 17-year-old from Newburgh and a 16-year-old from Monroe, for possession of marijuana.  The pair were part of a group of about seven kids observed by Cornwall police officer Bedetti running behind the Dunkin Donuts building at Cornwall Plaza.  His investigation led to the discovery of a small bag of marijuana and a glass pipe.

6:14 p.m.  Police respond to a report of property stolen from the girls’ locker room at Cornwall high school.

6:46 p.m.  Police take a report of larceny from a checking account at the Hudson Valley Credit Union.

Thursday, January 31
6:47 a.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Angola Road and see the animal with a compound fractured right rear leg.  The officer waits for a school bus full of children to pass before dispatching the injured animal and the deer scampers off into the wetlands dragging his severely injured leg.  Officer Jones attempts to pursue the animal with negative results.

10:17 a.m.  Police return a briefcase found on the side of Orrs Mills Road to a  nearby resident.

10:42 p.m.  Police respond to a report of carpet and padding that had been left in a dumpster on Brewster Road.

10:51 a.m.  Police respond to Cornwall high school for a report of a plastic bag with a substance that looked like marijuana inside that had been found pinned to a bulletin board.

12:29 p.m.  Police issued a summons for driving 64 mph in a 30 mph zone on Main Street to a 17-year-old male from Nelsonville.

12:58 p.m.  Police take a report from a woman who said her rottweiler bit her husband after he was playing rough with the dog.  The man then kicked the dog twice.

1:05 p.m.  Polcie take a report from a woman who said she felt uneasy because a man accused her of taking his cat.

2:12 p.m.  Police respond to a business on Main Street where the storeowner said she had closed for the day when a man with a brown coat and a scarf over his face made several unwanted remarks to her that made her uneasy.

3:15 p.m.  Police respond to a resident’s complaint that a neighbor was leaving brush on her property.

5:09 p.m.  Police investigate a report from a resident of Mine Hill Road that someone had shot out the windows of his Suburban with a BB gun overnight on Wednesday.

9:53 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 37-year-old female from New Windsor.


Friday, February 1
5:18 a.m.  Police investigate the theft of a Polaroid DVD player from a vehicle that was ransacked overnight while parked on Mailler Avenue.

5:30 a.m. Police investigate the theft of  two cell phones from a second vehicle that was ransacked overnight while parked on Mailler Avenue.

6:18 a.m.  Police investigate the theft of a GPS device from a  vehicle that was parked overnight on Quaker Avenue and the entering of another vehicle nearby.

7:05 a.m.  Police investigate the theft of battery cables from a vehicle parked overnight on Quaker Avenue.

8:22 a.m.  Police investigate the theft of a cell phone and pocketbook containing credit cards from a car parked overnight on Ferguson Dr.  (The victim’s wallet was recovered outside a home on Maple Street later that morning)

8:30 a.m.  Police investigate a report of an all track recorder stolen from a vehicle parked overnight on Secor Road.

8:55 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W northbound in which a female driver who was eight months pregnant lost control of her car on ice and hit the guardrail.

9:13 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W southbound in which a driver lost control of his vehicle due to icy conditions and went off the road, down a culvert, and came to rest in a small stream.

11:04 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which the driver lost control of her vehicle due to icy conditions and flipped over.   The driver, a 37-year-old female from Cornwall, was issued a summons for driving without a license.

11:14 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which the driver lost control of the vehicle due to icy conditions and struck the center median.

11:15 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in which the driver lost control of her vehicle due to icy conditions and hit the center median, then struck another vehicle.

11:28 a.m.  Police investigate the ransacking of two vehicles overnight parked on Fontaine Drive.

12:29 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle vs. tree accident with no injuries on Route 94.

12:38 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 that occurred when a driver slowed as he approached the scene of the above accident and slid off the road and into a ditch.

12:56 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a bad check.

1:48 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Pleasant Hill Road in which a driver slid into a ditch.

2:00 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Otterkill Road in which a driver slid into a ditch.

6:31 p.m.  Police respond to a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of Cornwall Plaza.


Saturday, February 2
3:06 a.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to two vehicles on Main Street.

6:17 a.m.  Police observe an abandoned car on Route 32 that had apparently been in an accident and contact the owner who said he fell asleep coming home from work and went off the road.  Police issue the driver, a 48-year-old male from Newburgh, a summons for leaving the scene of an accident.

7:18 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 32-year-old female from Newburgh.

10:31 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a hit-and-run accident in which a mirror of a truck parked on Main Street was knocked off by a passing vehicle.

10:32 a.m.  Police assist a man whose unlicensed dog had been picked up by the kennel.

1:12 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a pick up truck that had been rifled through earlier in the week while parked on Mailler Avenue.

7:56 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a disorderly patient.

8:40 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 20-year-old male from New Windsor.

9:21 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 36-year-old male from Monroe.

9:36 p.m.  Police respond to a verbal dispute between neighbors.

9:53 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and Quaker Avenue.



Sunday, February 3
1:10 p.m.  Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 94 in which one of the drivers is taken to the hospital with shoulder, arm and hand injuries and the other driver, a 44-year-old female from Salisbury Mills, is issued a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation.

4:21 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 36-year-old female from New Windsor.

5:37 p.m.  Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Jackson Avenue.

11:10 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an item thrown at a residence on Mill Street.
