To the Editor:
I would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in the history of the village to attend a presentation at the Storm King Engine Co. in the community room on Sunday, February 10 (snowdate Feb. 17) at 2 PM on the Gogarty Blacksmith Shop. The Blacksmith Shop is one of our historic buildings and we are about to lose it. It is located between 202 and 210 Hudson Street down in back at the old DPW site. In the near future this building will be dismantled and relocated due to the new construction in that area.
I am happy to offer this program in cooperation with the Cornwall Historical Society. They have a 40-minute video which was recorded by Jay Ziegler with Doug Cooper as the narrator. Also, Colette Fulton, Village Historian, will share with us the history of the Gogarty Family. Doug Cooper will be available to answer your questions and enlighten us about this community treasure.
So please mark your calendar, come out and enjoy!

Editor's note: Read about Doug Cooper's plan to move the barns from an August 2007 article.
