Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Friday, January 18
5:05 a.m. Police respond to First Street for someone yelling for help and observe an elderly man lying on the ground. He said the was fine and just needed help getting up. Subject was turned over to COVAC who took him to the hospital for observation.

7:55 a.m. Police investigate a report of a damage to the lawns of residences on Weeks and Barr Avenues that was apparently caused by the wheels of an ATV.

8:49 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W southbound in which a driver hit a patch of ice, spun around 360 degrees, then struck the media. No injury to the driver.

3:32 p.m. Police dispatch an injured deer on Dock Hill Road.

4:58 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Shore Road to a 37-year-old female from New Windsor.

5:14 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Shore Road to a 26-year-old female from Cornwall-on-Hudson.

9:40 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Shore Road to a male from Pine Bush.

10:44 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle tailgating another vehicle and speak with both subjects.


Saturday, January 19
10:29 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Hudson Street to a 50-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.


Sunday, January 20
5:01 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Spruce Street to an unidentified driver.

8:50 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Homeland Avenue to an unidentified driver.


Monday, January 21
No summonses or arrests


Tuesday, January 22
8:27 a.m. Police investigate a report of a tampering of the glovebox of an unlocked vehicle parked overnight on Riverside Drive.

9:05 a.m. Police investigate a report of loose change taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Maple Road.

10:00 a.m. Police investigate a report of a loose change taken from an unlocked vehicle parked on Bellwood Lane.

11:00 a.m. Police take a report from a woman who said that while she was out of work as a result of injuries, an unknown person came to her residence and handed her papers that appeared to be a scam and later another vehicle came to the residence three times and appeared to be taking video.

4:35 p.m. Police respond to a report of a parolee who violated his parole by drinking alcohol.


Wednesday, January 23
2:15 p.m. Police investigate a report of a two vehicles parked on Mountain Road whose doors were ajar on Monday and Tuesday mornings, although no items were missing.

2:32 p.m. Police investigate a report from the driver of a vehicle who said that when he was driving on Shore Road near the Scenic Technology building he came upon a white Toyota stopped in the roadway. As the driver began to go around the vehicle, when the other driver turned the same direction. The suspect male stopped the Toyota, jumped out with a silver metal baseball bat and started toward the other vehicle, then pulled away. Police followed the suspect to a residence but were unable to locate him.
