Monday, January 14
8:35 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a driver headed north on Route 9W fishtailed and struck the center median. The car is towed and the female driver taken to Cornwall hospital for observation.
9:21 a.m. Police respond to the area of Route 9W and Old West Point Road for a report of wires on fire and find wires are arcing and had set a tree on fire. Fire department on scene.
11:36 a.m. Police issue a summons to a 44-year-old male from New York for driving 72 mph in a 55 mph zone of Route 32.
12:29 a.m. Police issue a summons to a 25-year-old female from Washingtonville for driving 68 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W.
8:59 p.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Route 94 and dispatch the injured animal.
Tuesday, January 15
10 a.m. Police investigate a report of a juvenile receiving harassing phone calls from another juvenile Juvenile and parents advised.
5:51 p.m. Police respond to Route 9W for a report of a deer vs. motor vehicle accident.
Wednesday, January 16
1:49 a.m. Police observe a deer that had apparently been struck by a vehicle and dispatch the animal.
3:43 a.m. Police issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 32 to a 21-year-old female from Newburgh.
7:44 a.m. Police issue a parking summons to a vehicle on Main Street.
9:32 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle struck a mailbox on Cedar Lane in an attempt to avoid a deer.
10:00 a.m. Police investigate a report of a pair of stolen boots at Cornwall high school.
12:37 p.m. Police investigate a hit-and-run accident on Main Street in Cornwall.
2:37 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 and Riley Road with no reported injuries.
6:23 p.m. Police respond to a report of a dead deer in the roadway on Route 9W and Continental Road.
9:45 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle abandoned on the side of Route 32.
Thursday, January 17
8:10 a.m. Police take a report of a hit-and-run accident on Route 9W at the flagpole where a passing van swerved into the next lane and struck another moving vehicle on the back and front bumpers. No injuries reported.
11:15 a.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident in the parking lot near Dunkin Donuts in which a moving vehicle struck a parked one.
2:07 p.m. Police respond to a hit-and-run accident on Main Street.
2:53 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a car pulling out of Cornwall Plaza struck the front bumper of a vehicle on Quaker Avenue.
10:31 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road that occurred when the driver of a vehicle swerved to avoid a deer and went off the road, rolling over down an embankment. No injuries reported.
Friday, January 18
12:20 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in which the driver stated that he was going around the turn and lost control of his vehicle, sliding sideways and hitting a tree.
2:44 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle went off the roadway on Mill Street and went into a ditch.
8:03 a.m. Police respond to a multiple motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in which three vehicles collided with the center rail and two other vehicles collided with each other due to icy conditions. The incident, which occurred in Highlands jurisdiction, resulted into two minor injuries.
8:03 a.m. Police respond to a one-car accident on Route 9W in which the vehicle hit the center rail and the guardrail. No injuries reported.
8:03 a.m. Police respond to a two car motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in Highlands that occurred under icy conditions. No injuries reported.
8:55 a.m. Police issue a summons for driving with a suspended license to a 22-year-old female from Cornwall whose car skidded, spun around and struck a guardrail on Route 9W.
2:48 p.m. Police respond to a report of youths throwing snowballs at cars and at the fire department building. Several youths are found and dispersed.
2:58 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Laurel Avenue and issue a summons to one of the driver’s for a vehicle and traffic violation.
3:08 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation at Town Park to a 59-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.
3:39 p.m. Police respond to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Route 94 and Gerow Road. No injuries reported.
5:54 p.m. Police investigate a report of a 17-year-old female who voluntarily left a group home and police ascertain she is in the Mount Vernon area.
8:18 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Mineral Springs Road to a 42-year-old male from Newburgh.
8:27 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to an 18-year-old male from Newburgh.
9:30 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Quaker Avenue to a 21-year-old male from Cornwall.
Saturday, January 19
2:40 a.m. Police respond to a father/son domestic dispute.
11:30 a.m. Police investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle on Mine Hill Road whose occupants were looking for someone who lived in the area several years ago. Subjects advised.
12:32 p.m. Police take a report of a cell phone believed lost at Dunkin Donuts on the morning of January 17.
1:40 p.m. Police issue a summons for an uninspected vehicle parked at the rail station.
1:46 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 56 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94 to a 54-year-old male from New Windsor.
6:11 p.m. Police respond to a husband/wife domestic dispute.
7:13 p.m. Police issue a summons for a missing headlight to a 48-year-old male from Poughkeepsie.
7:25 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 44-year-old male from Brewster.
7:35 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 29-year-old female from Buffalo.
8:24 p.m. Police issue two summons to a 27-year-old female from Cornwall – one for driving without a license and one for speeding on Route 94.
Sunday, January 20
1:47 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 19-year-old female from Mount Vernon.
9:08 a.m. Police respond to a complaint that subjects had thrown items at a garage door on Blossom Terrace during the previous evening. Juveniles involved are located and directed to clean up the mess.
9:14 a.m. Police respond to a report of four lawn chairs stolen from the back porch of a residence on Patton Drive during the night.
9:21 a.m. Police respond to a complaint that subjects had thrown items at garage doors on Wyndgate Drive during the previous evening. Juveniles and parents advised.
9:44 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 51-year-old female from New Windsor.
10:45 a.m. Police respond to a report of a disorderly patient in the mental health unit of Cornwall hospital.
11:30 a.m. Police investigate a report of an Ipod Nano and $5 taken from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight at a home on Harold Avenue.
