Monday, December 10
12:05 p.m. Police respond to a complaint of littering at the Palomino Drive water treatment plant that included empty glassine baggies that are normally consistent with marijuana use. There was also a personal paper with a subject’s name and address on it. Police contact that person and he admits hanging out at the location and is advised.
Tuesday, December 11
7:00 a.m. Police respond to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Route 9W.
11:41 a.m. Police respond to a request by a homeowner to enter that person’s unoccupied residence and unplug a coffee pot that was left on.
11:41 a.m. Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Route 32.
8:40 p.m. Police investigate a report of a missing 13-year-old male who ran away from home. The child is located the next morning when he arrives at school.
Wednesday
6:19 a.m. Police issue a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign at Mailler Avenue and Lee Road to a 44-year-old male from Cornwall.
7:18 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.
10:15 a.m. A 51-year-old male came to headquarters to report that his 47-year-old wife has been missing for five weeks. Investigation shows that the wife left voluntarily and had left her husband a note advising same. Contact is made with her prior employer and it is learned that an out-of-state business had called recently doing a reference check on the missing subject.
3:45 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a car traveling on Quaker Avenue was struck by a truck pulling out of Elm Street.
7:49 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 38-year-old male from New Windsor.
8:06 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 19-year-old male from Montgomery.
9:00 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 22-year-old male from Monroe.
9:12 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 17-year-old female from New Windsor.
9:23 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 49-year-old male from Salisbury Mills.
11:10 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute between a mother and her 15-year-old son.
Thursday, December 13
3:28 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mills Road that occurred when a car swerved to miss a deer, crossed the road and struck a row of mail boxes, then went across a lawn and stopped on a stone wall.
9:32 a.m.. Police respond to a report of disabled vehicles at the flagpole on Route 9W and find a car that was unable to gain traction to continue over the mountain. Police call a tow.
10:00 a.m. Police respond to Riley Road and Route 94 for a reported motor vehicle accident find a vehicle having problems gaining traction on the roadway.
10:34 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W in which a driver lost control of his car and struck a guardrail.
12:23 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving a fuel oil truck whose driver lost control as he was coming down Mine Hill Road and slip sideways into a tree. The impact separated the cab from the tank and the tank rolled onto a private residence’s property. The Cornwall Fire department, Orange County Hazmat, DEC and Miller Environmental respond and recover 1,000 gallons from the dislodged tank and contain the spill as best they could.
4:44 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in Cornwall Plaza in which a moving vehicle slid into a parked one.
Friday, December 14
7:19 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle traveling on Route 218 lost control in the area of Curie Road and went off the roadway and into the yard of a house, damaging that property.
11:42 a.m. Police respond to a report of a disturbance at State Farm Insurance and the subject is leaving the area when police arrival.
11:55 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 37-year-old female from Fort Montgomery.
2:40 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Quaker Avenue and Oak.
3:12 p.m. Police investigate a report of two tail lights stolen from a Dodge Ram parked at Bernicker Dodge on Main Street.
Saturday, December 15
2:10 a.m. Police observe that a sign noting the Town Park hours was removed from its post and laying on the ground while another sign saying Buckle Up was completely removed and gone.
3:47 a.m. Police respond to a report of an attempted suicide by a 43-year-old female and find the subject who appears to be fine.
6:40 a.m. Police issue a summons for driving 69 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94 to a 17-year-old male from Highland Mills.
Sunday, December 16
6:32 a.m. Police assist the village police with a minor motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
10:32 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which a car drifted off the roadway because of snow ruts on the pavement.
11:33 a.m. Police respond to a report of a snowmobile traveling up and won Maple Street and advise the owner/operator not to drive on the roadway.
12:17 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 that occurred when a car pulled into a snow bank.
2:00 p.m. Police assist a disabled car at the flag pole on Route 9W that was stuck in snow.
2:25 p.m. Police assist a disabled vehicle on Otterkill Road.
2:48 p.m. Police assist a disabled vehicle on Otterkill Road.
3:08 p.m. Police assist a disabled vehicle on Route 218 and 9W northbound that slid into an embankment after losing traction..
5:50 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Riley Road and Route 94.
6:15 p.m. Police respond to Orrs Mills Road for a disabled vehicle that went into a ditch.
