Monday, December 3
1:59 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on the New York State Thruway southbound.

6:16 a.m. Police take a report of a domestic incident that occurred in the past.

6:21 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on the New York State Thruway southbound.

8:54 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

3:56 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on the Angola Road entrance on to Route 9W northbound.

4:52 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph speed zone on Route 32 to a 36-year-old female from Rock Hill.

5:16 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 56 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 and a summons for a loud exhaust to a 41-year-old female from Harriman.

6:14 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall.

6:17 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute between a mother and her son.

9:51 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road in which the driver hit a patch of ice, spun out and struck a tree.

9:54 p.m. Police cruiser hits a deer on Angola Road while responding to the above accident.

10:38 a.m. Police respond to a hiker who was stuck on a trail at Storm King Mountain due to ice. When police arrive, the subject was on his way down to the parking lot.

12:19 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to an 18-year-old male from Highland Mills.

2:27 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 59-year-old female from Cornwall-on-Hudson.

3:09 p.m. Police respond to a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle that had been parked at a residence on Main Street and was believed to have been taken by the victim’s grandson.

3:13 p.m. Police respond to a report of a gun fired at a residence on Route 94 and interview a man who said he was shooting turkeys and had all the required paperwork for the gun and tags for the turkeys.

3:32 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 61 mph in a 40 mph zone on Angola Road to a 25-year-old female from Cornwall.

4:44 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.

8:00 p.m. Police respond to a dispute between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend regarding a car stereo.

8:47 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 40 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 94 to a female from Newburgh.

11:29 p.m. Police recover vehicle reported missing that afternoon. See article.


Wednesday, December 5
10:25 a.m. Police investigate a report of larceny from a building on Orrs Mills Road.

12:05 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a disorderly group in the ICU. On arrival the family was cooperative.

12:44 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 26-year-old male from Ossining.

2:43 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation to a 30-year-old male from West Point.

3:03 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 23-year-old male from Averill Park.

3:04 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 17-year-old male from Conrwall.

3:31 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 26-year-old male from Newburgh.

4:02 p.m. Police investigate a report of larceny at the middle school.

7:05 p.m. Police arrest Elaine Plato, 61, of Wallkill on a warrant for issuing a bad check.

10:37 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 51-year-old male from Wallkill.

10:58 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 21-year-old male from Wallkill.


Thursday, December 6
1:24 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W northbound.

6:46 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

11:10 a.m. Police arrest an unidentified 31-year-old female from Cornwall and charge her with first-degree sexual abuse of a child under the age of 11, a felony, as well as with forcible touching and acting in a manner injurious to a child, both misdemeanors, after she is observed at Cornwall hospital touching the genitals of her nine-year-old son who was in restraints. After an investigation the woman is charged and the child, along with his siblings, are removed from the home by child protective services.

7:40 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 42-year-old male from Montgomery.

9:00 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 32 near Angola Road.


Friday, December 7
1:22 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 22-year-old male from Highland Falls.

11:36 a.m. Police respond to the middle school after school officials discovered that a 13-year-old female stole a laptop computer from the school. The child is charged as a juvenile and scheduled to appear in family court.

2:54 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mills Road and Jackson Avenue in which the driver slid on snow and hit a wood fence and utility pole.

3:47 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road in which a car went off the roadway due to slippery conditions.

4:10 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road in which a car went off the roadway due to slippery conditions.

4:29 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 in which the operator said he lost control and struck the guard rail.

4:59 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Pleasant Hill Road.

5:21 p.m. Police respond to the parking lot of the Cornwall middle school for a report of a person spinning his car and driving recklessly. The officer observes the vehicle in question and interviews the driver who does not appear to understand why it is not an intelligent idea to drive his vehicle in a reckless manner in a school parking lot that still has vehicles parked in it. Officer advises the operator about his poor judgment and lack of intelligent decision-making and sends him on his way.

7:56 p.m. Police respond to Pleasant Hill Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries. The officer observes one vehicle off the road near Light Cap Lane with two of the vehicle’s three occupants outside it. He then ascertains that the remaining occupant, a small child, may be in serious condition. Dr. Sirota Dorfman, good Samaritan, removes the child from the vehicle and carries her to the officer’s car for transportation to Cornwall hospital. The child was unconscious at the scene and regains consciousness at the hospital. An attempt to fly the child by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center is canceled due to poor weather conditions.

10:21 p.m. Police investigate a report by a homeowner on Alferd St. who said he was awakened by the sound of breaking glass, looked outside and saw two subjects running away. Responding officers check the area but are unable to locate subjects.

11:19 p.m. Police respond to Holloran Road for a reckless driving complaint and are advised of a minor motor vehicle accident. The officer advises the driver of previous complaint about their driving habits and take information regarding the accident.

Saturday, December 8
7:45 a.m. Police respond to Dunkin Donuts to a complaint of a subject trying to sell an American Express gift card. Subject says his family gave him the gift card because they think he will spend the money on drugs but he wants to sell it for cash because a lot of the local shops he buys from do not accept American Express cards. Subject is advised regarding law pertaining to soliciting.

10:18 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 50-year-old female from New Windsor.

10:55 a.m. Police assist with a delivery truck stuck on the ice on Cherry Hill Road.

5:30 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.

5:35 p.m. Police investigate a harassment complaint.

10:23 p.m. Police arrest Devakin Girdhari, 47, of Middletown, for driving while intoxicated after he was seen screaming with another male in the area of Laurel Avenue and Route 9W. The two men got into vehicle that was located and stopped, leading to the arrest. The driver is also issued summons for drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and unsafe backing of vehicle.

11:25 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

11:32 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W southbound.


Sunday, December 9

1:45 a.m. While on patrol on Route 218, police come across several large rocks and a large amount of ice that had fallen from the cliffs and onto the roadway.

1:54 a.m. Police respond to a harassment complaint involving two brothers.

4:38 a.m. Police respond to a three-car motor vehicle accident involving a fatality on Route 32. (see story)

10:32 a.m. Police issue a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign at Mill Street and Quaker Avenue to a 42-year-old male from New Windsor.

1:06 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a driver exited from CVS across Quaker Avenue to Elm Street and was struck in the rear by another vehicle.

1:30 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 72 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W and a summons for driving with a suspended license.

3:45 p.m. Police respond to a report of an unauthorized use of a car by the complainant’s son. No charges are filed.

5:34 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which a driver swerved to avoid another car and lost control, jumping the guard rail and landing down the embankment.

6:52 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W that occurred when the driver spun out and strike the guard rail. Driver is issued a summons for failure to produce an insurance card.
