Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Thursday, November 29
12:39 a.m.  Police assist town police in the emergency room of Cornwall hospital.

Friday, November 30
12:13 a.m.  Police issue a summons for tinted windows on a vehicle to a 22-year-old male from Yonkers.

10:47 a.m.  Police advise a male rollerblading in Quigley’s Funeral Home parking lot to move along.

4:19 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a Dodge spirit sedan with a broken rear window parked at a residence on Paula Court.  Breakage apparently was caused by an unknown object earlier in the day.

5:17 p.m.  Police advise subjects riding an ATV on Holts Lane.

7:09 p.m.  Police respond to Cherry Avenue for a report of disorderly conduct and observe a group of teens singing carols in front of a residence.  Police advise teens and they move along.

9:20 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle with less than two brake lights driven by a 48-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.

11:40 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a possible overdose by a woman who had taken Ambien and Xanax and who is upset about a relation situation.  Subject is transported to Cornwall hospital by Covac.


Saturday, December 1, 2007
7:42 a.m.  Police respond to an motor vehicle accident on Hudson Street.

12:29 p.m.  Police investigate numerous phone calls made to police dispatch by a caller claiming to have information on arms dealing and drug dealing in Newburgh and who later claims to be an ATF agent.

5:50 p.m.  Police respond to a vehicle accident on Duncan Avenue in which seven teens are injured.  The operator,  a 17-year-old male from Cornwall, is charged with speeding and violating the terms of his junior license.   See article for details.

7:40 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving with less than two headlights to a 44-year-old male from Newburgh.

9:15 p.m.  Police arrest 31-year-old Quentin Branch, of Newburgh, for driving with a suspended license and also issue a summons for speeding on Route 9W.

11:02 p.m.  Police arrest 55-year-old John Potter, of Cornwall, for DWI after he was stopped in the van he was driving in the area of Holts Lane.  Potter failed three sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of .12.
