Monday, November 12
12:10 p.m. Police take a report from a woman who is receiving harassing text messages from her ex-husband.

1:50 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 19-year-old female from New Windsor.

2:28 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 55 mph in a 30 mph zone on Jackson Avenue to a 39-year-old female from Cornwall.

3:30 p.m.  Police charge a 16-year-old female from Cornwall with identity theft after her mother reported she had made unauthorized  purchases at the American Eagle store under the mother's name.

4:44 p.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 16-year-old female from New Windsor.

4:46 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W near Route 218.

5:59 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 33-year-old female from Washingtonville.

6:09 p.m. Police issue a summons for a missing head light to a 19-year-old male from Cornwall.

7:32 p.m. Police issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 94 to a 21-year-old male from Highland Mills.

10:06 p.m. Police respond to a report of a deer blocking the roadway on Route 32 and move deer to the side of the road.


Tuesday, November 13
10:10 a.m. Police issue a summons for obstruction of view on Route 32 to a 39-year-old female from Atlanta.

10:20 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 39-year-old female from New Windsor.

11:05 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Mill Street to a male from Yonkers.

12:34 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Route 94 and Jackson Avenue and issue one summons for a traffic violation to a 23-year-old female from Washingtonville.

7:10 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 in which a car hit a tree while trying to avoid another car that was turning without using a directional signal.

8:13 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

9:44 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 45-year-old female from Pomona.

9:57 p.m. Police issue a summons for less than two lighted head lamps to a 41-year-old male from the Bronx.

10:14 p.m. Police charge 31-year-old Garanet Smith, of Monroe, with driving without a license and failure to keep right.


Wednesday, November 14
7:06 a.m. Police investigate a report of a car off a roadway and on a homeowner’s lawn on Route 32. Driver said he was too tired to drive and was looking for a place to park his car when he got stuck in a ditch.

10:38 a.m. Police issue a summons for a traffic violation on Route 9W to a 22-year-old male from the Bronx.

11:11 a.m. Police issue a summons for driving 61 mph in a 45 mph zone on Orrs Mills Road to a 40-year-old female from Montgomery.

12:16 p.m. Police arrest 43-year-old Robert Terry, of Newburgh, for driving with a suspended license on Route 9W.

1:18 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation Route 9W to an 18-year-old male from New Windsor.

1:47 p.m. Police issue two summonses for failure to wear a seat belt to a 37-year-old male from New Windsor.

2:15 p.m. Police arrest 59-year-old Edward Small, of Yonkers, for driving with a suspended license and issue a summons for an expired inspection sticker.

2:50 p.m. Police charge Ociel Martinez, 28, of Newburgh with driving without a license and with an illegal inspection sticker. The owner of the vehicle was ticketed for permitting the unlicensed operation.

3:42 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident.

5:59 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W to a 30-year-old female from Pleasant Valley.

6:16 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving without stopping at a stop sign at Grand Street and Bridge Street to a 45-year-old female from Cornwall.

6:20 p.m. Police respond to a report of a deer on the roadway on Angola Road and move it out of the roadway.

6:32 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving without a license and for no license plate light to a 22-year-old male from Cornwall.

8:45 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route Orrs Mills Road in which the car had major front end damage.

10:27 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 and one for an inadequate muffler to a 23-year-old male from Newburgh.


Thursday, November 15
9:10 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which the driver swerved to miss a deer and hit a guardrail, causing major damage to the vehicle.

6:14 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles banging on the windows of Lee Road elementary school, locate juveniles, and turn them over to parents.

10:05 p.m. Police arrest a 42-year-old male from Walden on a warrant from Sullivan County’s sheriff office for child neglect.


Friday, November 16
1:50 a.m. Police issue a summons to a car parked at the train station.

11:10 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired registration to a vehicle parked at the train station.

11:11 a.m. Police issue a summons for no inspection sticker to a vehicle parked at the train station.

11:18 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired registration to a vehicle parked at the train station.

2:00 p.m. Police issue two summons, one for speeding on Route 94 and one for driving with a suspended registration to a 44-year-old male from Newburgh.

5:45 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94.

6:09 p.m. Police issue a summons for not wearing a seat belt to a 40-year-old female from New Windsor.

8:35 p.m. Police respond to a custody dispute.

9:02 p.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Route 32, stop traffic and dispatch the wounded animal, then move its body off the roadway.

9:20 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 56 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 19-year-old male from Harriman.

10:28 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.


Saturday, November 17
1:20 a.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between a man and a woman regarding a vehicle.

2:33 a.m.  Police respond to a complaint of a loud party at the Shamrock Tavern.

7:45 a.m.  Police take possession of a dog found running loose on Route 9W near Continental Road.

10:28 a.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Quaker Avenue to a 23-year-old female from Ipswich, MA.

11:18 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a missing 16-year-old foster child who left school voluntarily and did not return home.

12:10 p.m.  Police respond to Route 9W for hunters trespassing and pointing a gun at the complainant who says he saw two men with a deer on the side of the road and told them they were trespassing.  One of the hunters says they argued but did not point the gun at the complainant in a threatening way.  They also say they were hunting in the woods behind Route 9W and dragged the deer out.  The deer was tagged and both subjects have valid hunting licenses.  They are both strongly advised and told to leave the area.

2:07 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 20-year-old male from Walden.

2:20 p.m.  Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 29-year-old female from Highland Mills.

6:07 p.m.  Police issue a summons for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 43-year-old male from Cornwall.

7:33 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 18-year-old female from New Windsor.

7:56 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 54 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 and one for talking on a cell phone to a 31-year-old male from Wallkill.

9:45 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 54 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 and for an expired inspection sticker to a 19-year-old female from Newburgh.

10:32 p.m.  Police charge 21-year-old John Minier, of Highland Mills, with unlawful possession of marijuana after a vehicle he was driving was observed entering Lee Road elementary school rear parking lot and exiting.  A stop was made and police retrieve a pipe with marijuana residue and a marijuana ‘grinder” with residue.  A medicine container with marijuana was found in the glove box.

11:45 p.m.  Police assist New Windsor police with a reported large fight in progress at the Bowling Time lanes.


Sunday, November 18
1:26 a.m.  Police respond to a report of noise at the Shamrock Tavern and tell parties in the rear bar area to keep it down.

5:41 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall Plaza for a dispute over a skateboard.  The skateboard was turned over to the juvenile’s parent.

6:37 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

Can someone tell me why there are not more tickets issued for talking on cell phones while driving?
