Monday, October 29
12:05 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 62 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 60-year-old male from New Paltz.
4:04 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mill Street and find a Ford Explorer wedged underneath the rear portion of a tractor trailer. A check of the vehicle reveals it is suspended for insurance lapse and is impounded. The operator of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Newburgh, was arrested and charged with driving without a license and driving a vehicle without insurance.
4:45 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at the Citgo station on Route 9W.
10:13 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a driver swerved to avoid a deer and his car went down an embankment on Otterkill Road.
Tuesday, October 30
8:59 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Jackson Avenue to a 46-year-old female from New Windsor.
9:39 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 26-year-old male from Newburgh.
11:06 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired registration to a 21 year-old male from Beacon driver on Route 32.
11:26 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 53-year-old female driver from Monroe on Route 32.
11:38 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 50-year-old female driver from Cornwall-on-Hudson on Route 32.
11:41 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 48-year-old female driver from Cornwall on Route 32.
11:47 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 36-year-old female driver from Cornwall on Route 32.
11:47 a.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 31-year-old male driver from Monroe on Route 32.
12:15 p.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 47-year-old male driver from New Windsor on Route 32.
12:18 p.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection to a 19-year-old female driver from New Windsor on Route 32.
12:40 p.m. Police arrest Abdeslam Benchemmar, 32, of Staten Island, for driving without a license and for driving a vehicle with a suspended registration on Route 32.
5:27 p.m. Police arrest Renee McNeill, 41, of Newburgh, for driving with a suspended license and issue a summons for speeding on Route 9W.
7:20 p.m. Police respond to a complaint of youths throwing toilet paper throughout the Brook Hollow development. All parents are contacted and watched as their kid cleaned all locations.
Wednesday, October 31
1:10 a.m. Police stop a vehicle on Route 9W for having no rear license plate light and find that the driver, Gerardo Castillo, 39, of Wallkill, was driving when his license had been suspended for DWI in 2002. Castillo is arrested and charged with driving without a license and is issued summonses for having no rear plate light and for having an obstructed view.
1:15 a.m. Polcie issue two summonses for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 9W to a 32-year-old female from Cornwall.
9:15 a.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend.
2:49 p.m. Police issue a summons on Academy Avenue to a 53-year-old male From Cornwall-on-Hudson for not wearing his seatbelt.
2:53 p.m. Police issue a summons on Academy Avenue to a 21-year-old male from Newburgh for not wearing his seatbelt.
2:55 p.m. Police issue a summons for an uninspected motor vehicle on Academy Avenue to a 42-year-old female from New Windsor.
3:22 p.m. Police issue a summons on Academy Avenue to a 42-year-old female from Newburgh for not wearing her seatbelt.
9:20 p.m. Police arrest Michael Scott, 43, of Cornwall for criminal attempt after he violated an order of protection against him taken out by a neighbor.
9:30 p.m. Police respond to Sheldon Drive for a report of eggs thrown at a house from a passing car.
10:00 p.m. Police respond to Harold Avenue for a report of debris in the roadway and find smashed pumpkins.
Thursday, November 1
12:46 a.m. Police respond to a report of a loud party on Clinton Street and request that music be turned down or off. Subject complied.
3:30 a.m. Police arrest Garnet Smith, 31, of Monroe for driving with a license that had been revoked for driving while impaired by alcohol and for three speeding violations in 18 months.
9:22 a.m. Police issue a summons to a car parked at the train station without a valid inspection sticker.
10:36 a.m. Police issue a summons to a 50-year-old male driver for making an illegal u-turn on Route 9W.
11:41 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 46-year-old male from Poughkeepsie.
12:20 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Woodbury Road to a 38-year-old female from Highland Mills.
1:29 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 9W to a 52-year-old male from Port Jefferson Station.
2:40 p.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 32 to a 20-year-old female from Cornwall.
4:42 p.m. Police issue a summons for an expired inspection sticker to a 33-year-old male from Cornwall.
5:45 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle on Taylor Road that was hit with eggs overnight.
5:50 p.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Orrs Mill Road and terminate it by firing two rounds.
6:02 p.m. Police respond to a report on aggravated harassment at the Cornwall hospital in which a nurse was injured by an unruly male patient.
7:07 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
Friday, November 2
1:23 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 9W to a 39-year-old female from Newburgh.
1:27 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 19-year-old male from New Windsor.
4:57 a.m. Police arrest Barakiel Rivera-Ramos, 23, of Monroe, for driving while intoxicated after he was stopped on Route 32 for a traffic violation. He is also issued summons for operating a vehicle without a license and for failing to keep right on a two-lane road.
9:24 a.m. Police respond to a doctor’s office building on Elm Street that had been sprayed painted with a happy face and the words “Hi, Poppy” and with what appears to be a picture of male genitals.
2:23 p.m. Police respond to a report of smoke in an apartment building and find a heavy odor of something burning in the hallway. Officer meets with maintenance and they locate the source coming from an apartment where an elderly couple reside. The couple had recently purchased a new stove and while using it to bake a pie they had accidently engaged the self-cleaning operation which locked the main door and elevated the temperature to a high degree causing the pie in the oven to burn.
3:49 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 32 to a 32-year-old male from Paterson.
6:44 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
7:20 p.m. Police take a report of a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Quaker Avenue.
11:30 p.m. Police investigate an incident of smashed pumpkins in the roadway in Quaker Mill Run with no results.
Saturday, November 3
2:57 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 94 to a 26-year-old female from Chester.
3:50 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of loud noise and advise parties to quiet down.
12:00 noon Police respond to a report of 40-plus hypodermic needles, mostly in packages, that had been discarded on the roadside on Otterkill Road.
3:26 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 53 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 41-year-old male from Cornwall.
3:30 p.m. Police respond to a report of an assault on a female who was frantic when Sgt. Sinagra arrived and she said a male suspect had struck her in the head. The area was swelling and she was complaining of pain. Sgt. Sinagra noticed red marks around her neck. Police officer Thomas began to check the area for the suspect who was fleeing in a vehicle belonging to the victim’s mother. The suspect was arrested on an outstanding warrant for an incident in September when he assaulted the victim. He was additionally charged with Assault 3, a misdemeanor, criminal contempt, a class d felony, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was sent to Orange County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
4:54 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Otterkill Road to a 19-year-old male from Salisbury Mills.
7:15 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation at Cornwall Plazaa to a 61-year-old female from Newburgh.
8:57 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 63 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 52-year-old male from New Windsor.
Sunday, November 4
1:10 a.m. Police respond to the Cornwall Townhouses for a report of a group of juveniles in the park area. Individuals, two of whom live in the townhouses, were spoken to and advised not to be in the park after hours.
8:25 a.m. Police issue a summons for failure to signal a lane change on Route 9W to a 38-year-old male from New Windsor.
10:38 a.m. Police issue three summonses to a 49-year-old male from New Windsor for driving 73 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W and two other moving violations.
1:32 p.m. Police investigate a report of two statues in St. Thomas Cemetery that had been recently broken and observe indicators of youths congregating in the area, including fresh graffiti behind the old garage, lighting fluid and gas can and melted wax on a tree.
4:22 p.m. Police respond to a report of an ATV accident in which the ATV was being pushed up a steep hill and it rolled over on top of the owner.
