Skate at last! After a week of below-freezing temperatures, Ring's Pond in Cornwall opened to skaters this weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, young children -- with and without skates -- chased one another around the icy surface, laughing as they went. Some older children and adults brought hockey sticks to make a game of it, while others merely enjoyed the opportunity to walk across the frozen pond.
