Monday, October 15
2:05 a.m. Police issue a summons for no plate light to a vehicle on Route 9W driven by a 48-year-old male from Astoria, Queens, New York.

11:58 a.m. Police issue a summons for no inspection sticker to a vehicle driven on Angola Road by a 34-year-old male from Chester.

12:02 p.m. Police investigate a report of a pick up truck stolen from a parking lot on Route 94 on October 12. Police issue an alert and find the truck in Newark, New Jersey, where the police had seized it for blocking a driveway. The ignition had been punched out.

1:50 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 17-year-old male from Cornwall.

1:59 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 56-year-old male from New Windsor.

2:18 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 28-year-old male from Newburgh.

2:23 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 54 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32 to a 55-year-old female from Cornwall.

2:41 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 32 to a 50-year-old male from Montgomery.

6:06 p.m. Police respond to a serious motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which a Chevy Trailblazer driven by Jermaine Gonzalez went off the roadway, into a ditch, up an embankment and struck a telephone pole. The impact caused the telephone pole to push through the A frame of the vehicle and enter the drivers compartment. The driver was extricated by the fire department and flown to Westchester Medical Center.

7:24 p.m. Police take a report of a minor motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

9:55 p.m. Police issue a summons for driving 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 32 to a 26-year-old female from New Windsor.


Tuesday, October 16
2:03 a.m. Police respond to a trespassing complaint.

6:53 a.m. Police issue a summons for speeding on Route 9W to a 23-year-old female from Newburgh.

9:23 a.m. Police take a report of a Macintosh laptop computer that was stolen from a residence on Pleasant Hill Road.

11:30 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of a subject at Stephanie’s Doggie Boutique who was acting strange and nervous. Police speak with the subject.

2:02 p.m. Police take a complaint from a woman who says that when she was walking her dog near the traffic circle that a man spoke to her obscenely and she was shocked and walked away. Police find the subject at the Maplehurst Inn and he admits to being there and saying those things. Police advise him not to contact people in that way.

2:34 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall Central High School for a report of a small amount of marijuana, rolling papers and five pills that were found on a student. Pills are found to be Ibuprofen and school official says the matter will be handled administratively.

4:30 p.m. Police exercise a warrant against Paul Reese, 34, of Ellenville, who was charged with issuing a bad check.

8:22 p.m. Police investigate a report of a subject shooting a BB gun at passing cars on Route 9W and find a 22-year-old man on Harris Lane, which parallels Route 9W, sitting at a bonfire with a black handgun, CO2 cartridges and a plastic container of BBs. He advises the officer that he was sitting by the fire shooting at glass bottles and plastic containers. He also says he was throwing bottles in the area and trying to shoot them prior to hitting the ground. He says that a stray BB or two could have traveled into 9W traffic. The individual whose car was hit by a BB declines to pursue charges and the officer takes the BB gun, ammo and CO2 cartridges for safekeeping.


Wednesday, October 17, 2007
1:11 a.m. Police issue two summons to a 26-year-old male from Newburgh. One for driving without a valid license and one for an illegally issued inspection sticker.

5:19 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute regarding custodial issues.

6:57 p.m. Police issue two summons to a 55-year-old male from Garnerville who stopped in the middle of Route 9W to asked another car for directions.

7:14 p.m. Police charge a 17-year-old female and a 16-year-old male with unlawful possession of marijuana after they were found in possession of 12 small ziplock bags on marijuana. A third teen, a 15-year-old male, was turned over to a parent. Police found the trio after responding to a report of youths smoking marijuana in the CVS parking lot.

9:52 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 that resulted when the driver tried to avoid a deer and ended up in a ditch.


Thursday, October 18
2:57 a.m. Police respond to the area of the traffic circle for a report of a fight in progress and interview two subjects who say the altercation started over how one of them was treating his girlfriend that night. Subjects are advised to leave the area.

8:09 a.m. Police arrest John Burger, 47, of Cornwall, for trespassing at Cornwall Plaza.

3:47 p.m. Police respond to a report of trespassing at Willow Avenue school by a man who lives at the Maplehurst Inn. Police interview the subject who admits to cutting through school grounds. Subject is strongly advised.

5:25 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute.

7:38 p.m. Police respond to a hit-and-run accident in which a parked vehicle was grazed by another vehicle whose driver says she was unaware of hitting the first vehicle.

9:25 p.m. Police respond to a report from a woman at the Cadet Motel who says she received a disturbing phone call from a man. Police trace the caller who denies making any alarming comments on the phone.

Friday, October 19
7:18 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Quaker Avenue to a 33-year-old female from Highland Mills.

11:30 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which the driver of a pickup carrying a boat says he sped up to avoid a speeding vehicle on the 9W ramp onto Angola Rd. and in so doing his boat overturned and damaged eight mailboxes.

12:36 p.m. Police assist a disabled vehicle on Angola Road whose driver says his transmission slipped and the vehicle traveled backwards, down a driveway, across Angola Road and over the lip of the roadway where it became stuck. The driver is short of breath as a result and COVAC is called to evaluate his condition.

2:52 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute between a daughter and her father.

6:42 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles hanging out at Cornwall Plaza who say they are waiting for a ride. Police advise them to wait somewhere else.





7:26 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of an unruly patient in the ER. Subject was loud and out-of-control and police use temporary restraints to get him under control.

7:50 p.m. Police respond to a four car motor vehicle accident with no injuries in front of Town Hall on Main Street.

9:26 p.m. Police respond to a dog vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

Saturday, October 20
9:58 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 44-year-old male from Cornwall.

10:38 a.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 53-year-old male from Newburgh.

12:00 p.m.  Police respond to reports of protesters obstructing traffic on Route 9W and find approximately 10 individuals walking southbound in the shoulder of the northbound lane.  Subjects were waving orange flags protesting incidents in Myanmar.  They said they were walking from  Albany to NYC and were advised to be careful and stay on the shoulder.

12:35 p.m.  Police respond to a report from a parent reporting a fight that occurred at the high school.

6:04 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a damaged mailbox post on Jacqueline Street.

7:38 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street that occurred when the side mirror of a  passing car struck the side mirror of a parked car.

Sunday, October 21
12:35 p.m.  Police are investigating a report by a woman who said that an acquaintance coerced her to take him to the town of Newburgh where she was held against her will.

1:17 a.m.  Police respond to a domestic incident.

11:01 a.m.  Police respond to a report of criminal mischief on Mailer Avenue in which a mailbox was pulled out of the ground.

4:44 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a group of males possibly smoking marijuana behind Cornwall Plaza.  Upon arrival the officer sees a 15-year-old male smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigraette and throwing it into the woods.  The subject admits he was smoking a marijuana cigarette and there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from him.  A small bag of marijuana was found on him and he was processed and released to his parents.
