To the Editor:
Is it possible for the Village to set up pickup of TVs, batteries, propane tanks etc. once or twice a year and have individuals using the service split the cost? Maybe some enterprising person with a pickup truck could set up a drop off place 1 or 2 times a year and charge $5.00 per item (or whetever it would cost).
I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount. I have been sitting on some of these items for years not knowing where they can be deposited and not wanting to hide in my regular garbage.

Comments:
John, contact the scrap metal place over by Sally's fish market in Newburgh. On junk day a fellow from there came around picking up aluminum and when he saw the pile (yes, a pile) of car batteries he was as eager to relieve me of them as I was to be rid of them. I was thankful that they would be recycled becuase, like you, I don't like it when stuff is hidden in the regular trash pick up. Kate
