Ebony Strings Concert Marks African American History Month

The Cornwall Public Library will celebrate African American History Month with a ZOOM concert by the Hudson Valley Ebony Strings Ensemble on Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 pm.

Led by violinist E’lissa Jones, the ensemble comprises students from middle and high school. They perform classical pieces, African American spirituals, and original compositions by Ms. Jones.
Jones, a violinist, and singer-songwriter founded the Ebony Strings Ensemble – the first African American string chamber group in the Hudson Valley – with the mission of playing concerts locally to inspire other young African American students to learn a stringed instrument. With a strong classical background, students can branch out effortlessly to other forms of music.

Register via the online calendar here.

ZOOM links will be sent to all registrants on the day of the program.
