General News: Voters Reject School Proposition

On Tuesday voters rejected both bond propositions totaling $24.85 million. After the $44.4 million plan was rejected last December, a smaller version with 2 propositions was up for vote, a $21.8 million one which included improvements and repairs to district buildings and proposition 2 for $3.05 million which was a plan to renovate the elementary schools so that fifth-graders could be moved back to those schools from the middle school. Proposition 1 had to pass in order for Proposition 2 to pass.
