The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) has announced that John F. Carpenter, D.M.D., of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, has earned the 2017 Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition (LLSR) for his dedication to remaining current in dentistry and giving back to his community. By embracing the core beliefs of AGD throughout their careers, LLSR recipients set a higher standard that all general dentists are encouraged to emulate. To date, fewer than 400 members have received this recognition.
AGD Fellowship and Mastership are prestigious symbols of the continuous educational journey toward improvement and progress in dentistry. Fellows and Masters embody AGD’s principles and ideals and accept an obligation to prove themselves worthy of their designations throughout their professional lives. Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR) is a formal recognition for AGD Masters in the areas of continuing education, dental-related community service and service to organized dentistry.
During the AGD2017 Convocation Ceremony, 280 AGD members received their Fellowship, 97 received Mastership and 21 members were recognized as LLSR recipients.
Dr. Carpenter graduated from Tufts Dental School in 1982 and currently practices dentistry in New Windsor. Dr. Carpenter is married to Susan and has 2 sons. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Carpenter is a member of the ADA, NY State Dental Association, ICOI, GNYACD and several other dental organizations.
