To the Editor:
At last night’s (February 26th) meeting, the Village Board solicited and listened to many comments about traffic flow in Cliffside Park. In the end, the Board tabled action on existing encroachments to allow more study of legal issues and traffic flow questions prior to developing a plan of action, jointly with residents, to address traffic, drainage and resurfacing. I believe this to be a wise course of action at this point.
Residents are reminded that elected officials cannot always do what is popular with everyone, as they are elected in large part to ensure public safety, health and welfare. Hopefully, we can develop and accomplish a plan that compromises between status quo and public safety.
Edward C. Moulton, Jr.
Mayor
Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson
