Letters to the Editor: Former Resident Opines on Election Choices
March 18, 2007
It Takes a Village
Although I am no longer a resident of the Village of Cornwall, I thought you might be willing to print my letter. I am writing to lend my support to Joe Gross as the new Mayor of the Village of Cornwall. I lived in the Village for 14 years before moving out of town. I am honored to be able to say that I have known both Joe Gross and Ed Moulton for all of those years. Joe was a neighbor of mine and he remains a good friend. Ed and I attended the same church (St. John’s Episcopal Church) where we worked and prayed together and where I have witnessed his dedication and hard work. Both of these individuals have strong character and have devoted large parts of their lives to community service.
I have no doubt that Ed, if reelected as Mayor, would continue his hard work, and he is to be commended for his many years of service (we have referred to him as the “Mayor for Life” J). He has run many terms uncontested, because of the love and respect that the Village has had for him. However, there are two real candidates on the ballot this time. And I believe that the values that the Village residents hold closest to their hearts are better understood and respected by Joe Gross. Joe is an open and honest man with strong integrity and a good heart. He has the wisdom and experience to lead the Village through the challenges of today and tomorrow. If you elect this man to be your Mayor, you will have your second “Mayor for Life”. Under his leadership, the Village will thrive as a safe, prosperous, happy, clean, fun-loving, family oriented community. Vote for Joe Gross to take you there.
