Cornwall Library to Host Popular Veterans Day Program
CORNWALL – Cornwall Public Library is happy to offer our Veterans Day program again this year on Monday, Nov. 11. This is one of the library’s most popular programs that brings all ages together to recognize and honor those who have served our country. This year, 2019, marks the 101st anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I in the 11th month on the 11th day at the 11th hour.
We invite the community to bring in photos for the Library’s Wall of Honor, and veterans to come and share their stories. This year’s program will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library’s community room, immediately following the town ceremony at the triangle memorial across from the Sands Ring Homestead. We’ll have a collection of memorabilia available to view that may include a uniform, parts of uniforms, medals, helmets and more. We’ll also feature a map to pinpoint the location where you or your loved ones served.
Veterans are invited to bring in photos and memorabilia (please drop off at the Library during the previous week), and plan to spend some time during the program to share your stories and remembrances. This program is a drop-in event, and registration is not required. For more information, please contact the library at 845-534-8282.
