Mike Levine Workshop Keynote Address

Noted author and newspaperman Pete Hamill will deliver the keynote address for the 2009 Mike Levine Writers Workshop at 7 p.m., Friday, May 1, in Jeffersonville.
Hamill, who was a personal friend of the late Mike Levine, will talk about Levine, the kind of journalism he excelled at and the state of journalism today. Hamill was a long time columnist at the New York Daily News and also at the New York Post and served as editor-in-chief at both papers. He is currently a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University
The event is free and open to the public. Donations to the Mike Levine Journalism Education Fund will be gratefully accepted at the event.
Mike Levine, was an award-winning journalism and beloved columnist for more than 20 years at the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, NY. He later became its editor and died suddenly in 2007 at the age of 54. The fund and the workshop have been established in his name.
