October 14, 2014 Cornwall Town Board Meeting

Cornwall NY – On Tuesday, October 14, 2014 the town of Cornwall held it's meeting at 183 Main Street, at 7:30 PM. The town board covered issues on, New York State retirement system, ATM proposals, the Firthcliffe Heights water district rate increase, a public hearing date for the town's budget and the New York State grant they received for traffic committee.
The New York State retirement system resolution for elected and appointed officials will have a time keeping system where elected and appointed officials will report days worked and record all their activities to the town clerk.
The town is looking into the cost and benefits of having a ATM machine in the town hall, based on the request of court officers.
They briefly reviewed the recent enacted water rate increased for the Firthcliffe Heights water district. The water rates has raised from $11.20 per thousand gallons to $11.76 per thousand gallons as of July 2014.
The town board is currently working on 2015 budget. Public hearings for the town's budget is on November 3, at 6:45 pm to receive and discuss comments from the public.
The town also received a grant for $3,680.00 from the State of New York Governor Safety Traffic Community Department of Motor Vehicles on the behalf of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to participate in the state wide police traffic service program. The goal is to increase seat belt usage, reduce aggressive driving, speeding and other dangerous driving violations.
