At or about 8PM Sunday, September 14, 2014, a two vehicle motor vehicle accident on Main Street in the Town of Cornwall left a business and residential building with minor structural damage, a female passenger injured, and one of the drivers in the back of a Police car, when the male operator of one of the two vehicles involved, a compact car that had been traveling westbound, apparently lost control of his vehicle after initially colliding with a SUV that had been traveling eastbound. The car drove up onto the sidewalk, striking 222 Main Street, an occupancy housing Dr. Stein DDS 'Creating Dental Excellence' Offices located on the ground floor and residences above.
Both Town of Cornwall and Cornwall on Hudson Police responded to the scene, along with COVAC/Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department.
A female occupant of the vehicle that had struck the building was removed from the car by Emergency personnel and transported to the hospital for her injuries.
