Town of Cornwall Police Department
The Town of Cornwall Police Department is investigating a the unintentional discharge of a handgun that led to a 35 year old Cornwall woman being shot in the upper right thigh. At approximately 9:15 pm a call was placed to 911 from a 46 yr old Cornwall man who advised that he accidentally shot his wife. Town of Cornwall Police responded to the residence in the Mountainville section of Cornwall and found the subject attending to his wife’s gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center via helicopter. The victim sustained a minor injury to her upper right thigh. The male party was demonstrating the use of a tactical light on the weapon when the weapon discharged. The incident is still under investigation.

It's a good thing that, just like with a car, you have to demonstrate proficiency and a knowledge of safety rules in order to own a firearm...
