The 17th Annual Riverfest went off without a hitch. The weather was perfect for perusing local vendors, kayaking on the Hudson River and listening to great outdoor music.
Storm King Adventure Tours was the hot-spot of the event. They hosted their annual $1 kayak demos and raffle where three lucky people could win a free kayak tour, a t-shirt or a hat. The line wrapped around their booth for the entirety of the festival.
The sounds of Junkit Band and the Summerville Brothers, among other special musical guests were the wonderful soundtrack of the day. The big white tent was filled to the brim with people dancing and lounging. The festival even provided children’s entertainment that was thoroughly enjoyed by the younger attendees.
The vendors ranged from delicious Jamaican food to local jewelry outlets, and were enjoyed by all. The newest addition, the Roaming Railroad had children squealing with joy as they rode through the festival on the train with their families.
The feeling of a tight-knit community was felt throughout the day, and left people looking forward to next year’s Riverfest. A big “thank you” is owed to the volunteers and organizers that made this event as wonderful and enjoyable as it has been for the past 17 years.
