General News: Eli Gets His Library Card

CORNWALL, NY – Eli, the goat mascot of Edgwick Farm and a popular patron of Cornwall Public Library, was presented with his own library card by Karen LaRocca-Fels, Library Director, in celebration of September as National Library Card Month. As just a young ‘kid’, Eli began visiting the library with his ‘human’, Cara Meling, and interacting with other library patrons – especially the younger set. Always well behaved, he especially loved it when going outdoors with the children and being fed dried leaves which, to him, are like potato chips!
When commenting on Eli being given a Cornwall Public Library Card, Mrs. Fels stated, “If this kid can get his own library card, yours can too!”
All residents of the Cornwall Central School District are eligible for library cards at Cornwall Public Library. To apply, come in to the library’s front desk with a photo ID (i.e. NYS license) and a piece of mail (i.e. utility bill, bank statement) that has been mailed to your home. Children who can write their first name can apply for a library card, too, as long as a parent already has a card at Cornwall Public Library and accompanies them at the time of signing up.
For more information about the Library and/or Eli’s visits, please call 534-8282 and speak with Liz Fisher or Lisa SinClair.
