General News: Vendors Arrested at Cornwall Fall Festival

On Sunday, September 15, 2013Town of Cornwall Police Department said they received a tip from an agent of a designer brand who was conducting surveillance at the Cornwall Fall Festival. Undercover officers were then sent in to investigate and did observe the two individuals actively selling counterfeit goods.
The two subjects; Harmeen Sawhney age 42 of Salisbury Mills and Harry Finerow age 74 of Ellenville were both arrested without incident and charged with Trademark Counterfeiting in the second degree, a class E Felony.
The Town of Cornwall Police Department seized over 300 counterfeit bags with labels such as Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Louis Vutton and Coach.
Richard Massimi, President of the Greater Cornwall Chamber of Commerce said he was "surprised by the arrest" and said that an employee of one of the makers of the real designer handbags happened to be in the area and alerted Cornwall Town Police about the counterfeit goods.
