General News: CCMS Choir Performs in Albany

Ten Cornwall Central Middle School students were selected to participate in the NY State American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Middle School Honor Choir in Albany on August 11, 2013.
The participating students were: Will Corby, Jessica Eng, Sofia Giardella, Charles Longueria, Sydney Mayo, Sahana Rao, Tara Rao, Scott Rolon, Lauren Sharp, and Maia Tice.
The students rehearsed on their own and with their director over the summer to perform with other students from across the state for the opening of the summer conference. The students and their parents arrived on Saturday for a full day of rehearsals to create a cohesive group. They auditioned for special parts and Scott Rolon was selected for of the featured groups on the concert.
Under the direction of Amanda Quist of Westminster Choir College the Honor Choir performed five selections beautifully.
Students were nominated by their CCMS Chorus Director, Valerie Ransbottom. Their recommendations were submitted with NYSSMA recognitions, All-County Scores and other vocal distinctions.
