There was a motor vehicle accident on Caesars Lane (present main access to Rt.9-W Cornwall from /to Rt. 94 in New Windsor) on the "S"curve August 1st in the afternoon, during the rain shower.
Caesars Lane was shut down for about 1 hour while emergency personnel and tow crews tended to the wreck.
The single vehicle involved went off the road and down into a deep gully, which had standing water in it.
The vehicle did not overturn and unlike initially reported by 911, water was not seeping into the occupied vehicle, with someone trapped, that triggered a large response of Police, Fire, Medical first responders to the scene.
