General News: The Cornwall Bark Park turns one and hosts a birthday party
|
The Cornwall Bark Park on Opening Day in August 2012 |
From The Cornwall Bark Park
The Cornwall Bark Park will officially turn one on Monday, August 5. In honor of this milestone there will be a one year birthday party at the park on Saturday, August 10 at 10:00.
Puppy Paws Gourmet Doggie Treats and Dog Boarding will be serving up a specially-created doggie birthday cake. Chilly Willie’s ice cream truck will be on hand for cool treats for the humans.
The celebration will also honor those individuals and families whose generosity helped open the dog park with funding for the fence and gates.
Scouts to help
Kayla Bacher and Ashley Garcia from girl scout troop 459 will also be helping coordinate the party as part of their Silver Award project. Colin (CJ) Schroeder, an Eagle Scout candidate, will be creating a rock wall sitting area near the trees for human comfort.
“It feels like the park has been part of the community forever” says councilman Randy Clark. “We estimate that more than 500 dogs have visited the Bark Park to date. Although most of the dogs are from Cornwall there are definitely dogs from neighboring communities visiting the park and Eileen (Hartmann, owner of Cromwell Manor) recently received approval to host dogs at her bed and breaksfast so we may even have some international dog travelers.”
All dogs and humans are welcome to the festivities. For more information visit us on face book (Cornwall NY dog park), our website (cornwallnydogpark.com) or email us at [email protected].
