General News: Fatal Accident on Pleasant Hill Road
One person was killed and two were injured early Saturday in a one-car accident on Pleasant Hill Road in the town of Cornwall.
Town police said the vehicle, a 2004 Volkswagen, was found overturned in a wooded area around 3:52 a.m.
A male passenger, identified as Mihaly Kvacska, 37, of Cornwall, was found ejected from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was extricated by the Cornwall Fire Department and flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, authorities said.. A second passenger was treated by the Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps and transported to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. The names of those injured were not released.
Cornwall Town Police were assisted at the scene by state police, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police and the Cornwall Fire Department.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
