General News: McGuinness Thanked for Service to Town

J. Kerry McGuinness has been coming to meetings at Cornwall Town Hall for more than 25 years, first as a member of the planning board for two decades, then as member of the Town Board. On Monday, Councilman McGuinness attended his last scheduled council meeting, where Supervisor Kevin Quigley took time to recognize and thank him for his many years of service.
Quigley thanked McGuinness for his work during his three terms as a board member, and for his recent role as chairman of the Comprehensive Plan Review Board. McGuinness, who is returning to private life after he ’lost his seat to Elizabeth Longinott in the November general election, took a moment to say that he felt privileged to have been able to serve the town for so long.
“It’s been a very important part of my life and I’m thankful for it,” he said.
