General News: Lions Club Coloring Contest
From the Cornwall Lions Club
The Cornwall Lions Club will hold its annual Halloween Art Contest from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday (Oct. 23) along Main Street in town and Hudson Street in the village. The contest is free and children from kindergarten through the sixth grade are eligible.
The Lions will be at two locations to register children, assign a spot and distribute paint. The town location is the business district parking lot and the village location is the bandstand.
Each participant will receive a coupon for a free slice of pizza and a soda to be redeemed at Leo’s Restaurant & Pizzeria or Village Pizza.
Town and village police will provide patrolmen to help deal with traffic and keep children safe.
The Lions are grateful to local businesses for allowing children to hang their artwork on their windows and to the Canterbury Brook Inn for donating the paper. They also extend their appreciation to the town and village police departments.
Cash prizes will be awarded; the judge is artist Rita Clark. The rain date is Oct. 30.
