There were singers, dancers, impersonators and even circus performers on stage at the Cornwall Central Middle School last Friday as more than twenty youngsters entertained the audience in the second annual Cornwall’s Got Talent showcase.
Rhiannon Guilfoyle opened the evening with a solo performance of “Jailhouse Rock” that got the crowd swinging. Scott Chatfield tipped his hat to a great performer as he did an impersonation of Michael Jackson singing “Smooth Criminal.”
Tapping dancing partners Rebecca Williams and Samantha Reichman performed “That’s All,” followed by a solo singing performance by Kylie Powers and a solo guitar performance by Stephan Fox.
The Frey Sisters, Anna and Sophie, teamed up to present some circus tricks and three girls – Kelly Moran, Sarah Henry and Krissy McGonnigle – sang an acapella version of “Don’t Stop Believing.”
Show organizer Sandra Sumski says that the show was billed as a showcase this year rather than a competition so that more students would participate. At the end of the performances, all of the performers were presented with a medal engraved with the words "Star Performer" - Cornwall's Got Talent 2010.
