General News: Planning Board Member to Run for Trustee
|
Andrew Argenio |
Andrew Argenio is throwing his hat into the race for village trustee. Argenio, 39, picked up a petition for election earlier this week, after current trustee William Fogarty announced that he is not running again for the seat.
Argenio tells News from Cornwall and Cornwall on Hudson that he is running because of his interest in infrastructure and recycling, two areas where the village spends a lot of its resources. Argenio works with his family business, Argenio Brothers, which is a contractor and also runs a mixed masonry recycling business in New Windsor.
Argenio was appointed to the village planning board last April by mayor Joseph Gross. A village resident for 12 years and a Cornwall native, Argenio believes his experience will benefit the village. “I learned a lot on the planning board,” he said, “and I look forward to learning more.”
Two trustee seats will be filled in the March 18 election. Trustee Mark Edsall is also collecting signatures for re-election.
Mayor Joseph Gross has announced his intention to run for re-election and he is expected to face lawyer Peter Neuman, who says he already has more than enough signatures to support his bid.
Comments:
Happy to see someone stepping up and running. Good Luck.
