General News: DPW Employee Injured in Crash
Tom Vesely, a 22-year employee of the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson’s Department of Public Works, is in critical but stable condition following a two-car motor vehicle accident in Lloyd on Saturday night.
According to DPW administrator Arlene Roberts, Vesely will be operated on Tuesday afternoon to insert pins in a femur that was broken in the accident, which claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman from New Windsor who was the driver of a second vehicle. Roberts said that Vesely, age 40, also suffered a broken arm and a gash to his head.
Both vehicles were traveling south in the rain on Route 9W in Lloyd at the time of the accident, which is still under investigation by police.
