General News: Senior Softball Team Grabs Championship

Cornwall's senior all-start softball team bounced back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Town of Wallkill 7-4 on Tuesday at Pine Bush to win its second District 19 tournament championship in a row.  The girls chipped away in the second, third and fourth inning scoring one run in each and shutting down Town of Wallkill.

In the bottom of the fifth, Emily Casey got on board with a single and was in scoring position. Stephanie Staudle's RBI single in the fifth inning put Cornwall on top 4-3.  Sami Krause had a double and two RBI and Emily Darcy had two singles.   Town of Walkill scored another run on an error in the top of the seventh.  Winning pitcher Kaitlin Hogan struck out five.

Cornwall will play the District 17 (Dutchess County) winner on Saturday.

Does that mean they'll stop driving around honking thier horns screaming at 8:30 every night?

Well, first and foremost, they don't honk every night at 8:30. But, I'm sure they will continue with their honking 'cause they have a lot more wins in store!
