People lined up early Friday morning for the annual Pet Show sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of America at Cornwall Town Park.
The largest number of pets were entered in the dog categories -- small, medium and large.
Master of Ceremonies for the competition was Sorveig Barton, who had to keep the crowds of pets moving past the judges, collected the votes, and announced the winners. Judges included village mayor Joe Gross and town supervisor Kevin Quigley, along with other local dignataries.
Each of the winners, in categories from "shortest tail" and "shortest nose bridge" to "best overall pattern and most resesembles owner" receive a ribbon that was hung around their necks.
While the dozens of dogs showed up to try to claim a prize, only six cats paraded before the judges. Those that did, however, were excellent specimens.
Two birds competed in their category and a half dozen rodents and small animals, including gerbils and mice, competited in the show.
Perhaps the most interesting were the green/aquairum pets, which included frogs, turtles, a hermit crab and two crickets held by two brothers.
