General News: Youth Group Collecting Donations
Library is drop-off location for cornwall youth group project
CORNWALL, NY – In a continuing effort to support local community organizations, the Cornwall Public Library will be a drop-off location for a project led by the church-affiliated Cornwall Youth Group. The group is collecting donations for the Annual Christmas Party for Project Life –part of Newburgh Interfaith Emergency Housing Inc. – which provides transitional housing for homeless families with children in Orange County. The Annual Christmas Party for the residents of Project Life includes a boutique where the children can “shop” for a Christmas gift for their parents and siblings, and the parents have an opportunity to get gifts for their children, free of charge.
The public can bring in donations and place them in bins located in the Cornwall Public Library lobby, as well as at the Cornwall Presbyterian Church, the Cornwall United Methodist Church and St. John’s Episcopal Church. Suggested items to donate include: new or very gently used toys, games, books for children of all ages, and items that kids can gift their parents (scarves, wallets, purses, etc). The Youth Group will be collecting items until December 10.
