VOTERS APPROVE CORNWALL LIBRARY 2019-20 BUDGET, ELECT THREE TRUSTEES
CORNWALL – By an overwhelming majority, voters approved the Cornwall Public Library’s fiscal year 2019-20 operating budget at the annual vote on April 23. In addition, three trustees were elected to the Library Board.
The $1,276,950 budget passed 433 to 124. The tax levy increase is $33,118 over last year, and remains within the state tax cap. The average increase for a homeowner with a home assessed at $350,000 is just 30 cents per year.
Voters elected Melissa Greaves-Kulisek to a one-year term, and Meghann Collopy Chyla to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees. Incumbent Carol Stein, the top vote-getter, was re-elected to a three-year term, as well.
