General News: Interim Library Director Appointed
Interim Library Director and Board Treasurer Appointed
CORNWALL, NY – The Board of Trustees of the Cornwall Public Library has appointed Charlotte Dunaief as acting Interim Director, while the Board conducts a thorough search for a new director. Ms. Dunaief replaces Mary Lou Carolan, who served our community since 2016 and has accepted a position with the Newburgh Free Library. The Board and staff wish her well in this new endeavor. Ms. Dunaief has served as the Head of Adult Services at the library since 2010. She has previously performed the duties of Interim Director during a prior director’s maternity leave. She has experience managing the daily operations of the library, including scheduling and programming. Charlotte has first-hand knowledge of all functions performed at the service desks, and the Board is committed to supporting her and the entire staff during this transition period. Our library community looks forward to a smooth transition and continued excellence in programming and services, as our search committee embarks on our search for our future permanent library director.
The Board of Trustees is also wishing Michelle Mellino a fond farewell, as she is stepping down in her current position as Treasurer of the Board. She is being replaced by Megan Mastowski, a Cornwall resident and CPA, and Michelle will be working with Megan in this transition. The Board is grateful for all of Michelle’s contributions over the past few years and welcomes Megan to this important role.
