Skoufis Secures Grant for Town of Cornwall to Purchase Recycling Bins
Assemblyman James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) has announced that he secured a $5,000 grant for the Town of Cornwall to fund the purchase of recycling bins.
New public space recycling bins will be placed throughout the community - in parks, the business district and Town Hall. Skoufis worked with the town and its conservation committee, including Chairwoman Carla Castillo, to identify the need for new receptacles that are both aesthetically-pleasing and also promote recycling.
“We thank Assemblyman Skoufis for obtaining this grant for us,” said Cornwall Town Supervisor Richard Randazzo. “These recycling bins will be a great addition to the town’s program to help preserve the environment in the Cornwall.”
“Keeping our downtowns and parks free of litter is a no-brainer so when the Town of Cornwall approached me with the need for additional recycling bins, I went to work,” said Assemblyman Skoufis. “We are fortunate to live in the incredibly beautiful place that the Hudson Valley is – we need to keep it that way and I’m committed to doing so.”
