On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at approximately 3:00pm, while walking home on Curie Road in the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, from the Cornwall Middle School, a 13yr old female victim observed an orange colored vehicle occupied by a white male (vehicle operator) and white female (front seat passenger), suddenly drive up to her when the listed female suspect then “reached- out” her arms out of the front, passenger side window of the vehicle and attempted to “grab” the female victim, when female suspect missed and passed the female victim, the male vehicle operator then proceeded to place the vehicle into reverse gear and began following the female victim home to her residence, the vehicle and the two listed occupants then quickly “sped- off” traveling southwest on Curie Road towards Main Street into the Town of Cornwall. The female victim along with her mother reported the listed incident to police in person at approximately 5:30pm on 11/22/16.
Suspect Vehicle: Orange colored vehicle, no further description.
Male Suspect: Male/ White, gray hair, approximately 60yrs of age, no further description.
Female Suspect: Female/ White, gray hair, approximately 60yrs of age, no further description.
While this appears to be an isolated incident and no other incidents have been reported to local police, there are a couple of hints parents/ children should try and always adhere to:
Always walk in groups or pairs
Try to always have a cell phone available on your person with “E911” set into your contacts.
When a child feels threatened immediately “run and scream”, and if at all possible, go to an adult who you know and trust and report any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s) or activity.
Walk in well- lit/ visible areas and walk where there are a lot of people and houses in the area if possible.
When you observe any suspicious person(s), vehicle(s) or activity, immediately notify the police.
