On Monday, February 22, 2016, at 7:00pm, Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Chief Steve Dixon presented an “Exceptional Service Award” to Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Officer, Hal Desjardines, for his dedicated work effort during the calendar year, 2015.
Below is the letter of recognition I presented to the Cornwall-on-Hudson Village Board.

Gentleman,
I’m requesting Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department, P.O. Hal Desjardines, be formally recognized for an “Exceptional Service Award”, for his diligent work performance during the calendar year of 2015’, at the next Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Business Meeting being held on the evening of February 22, 2016 at 7pm.
During the year 2015’, P.O. Hal Desjardines effected approximately fifty- three arrests, most of which were self- initiated arrests. P.O. Desjardines did also issue approximately two hundred and seventy- three vehicle- traffic summonses during the same time period.
Some of the arrests P.O. Desjardines effected during the year 2015’ were for the following felonies and misdemeanors: Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated (Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor- Vehicle (Felony) as well as other felony, misdemeanor and violation arrests.
P.O. Desjardines has been a part- time officer with the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department for the past year and a half and has been a part- time police officer in New York State for approximately three years, this is a tremendous accomplishmnent for a part- time officer with limited past experience as an officer. Officer Desjardines is a tremendous asset to both the residents of Cornwall-on-Hudson and to its’ police department!
