CORNWALL, NY – The Town Board held their meetings on August 10th and September 14th.
In August, the Storm King Golf Course was on the agenda. The Town Supervisor, Randy Clark, wanted to look into information gathering on purchasing the golf course. During public comment the room was split for and against the golf course. However, when Clark went on to get a vote on only gathering information on the golf course, the rest of the board shut it down immediately, believing that it wasn’t good for the Town. Clark, went on to ask why information gathering was a bad idea. The board responded saying that with NYMA and KJ there was enough on their plate, without worrying about the purchase of Storm King Golf Course.
During the September meeting, the Town Board announced that they will be sending out a Press Release regarding the NYMA Auction set for the end of September. This Press Release went on to state that after being repeatedly ignored by the bankruptcy court the Town is still interested in purchasing part or all of the NYMA property. It goes on to state, that in the event that NYMA is purchased by a third party the Town will contact the new owners; telling them that the Town is still interested in acquiring the property. It then says that, “the Town also reserves the right to pursue acquisition of the NYMA property by other statutory means, including Imminent Domain Proceedings.”
A Public Hearing for the Benefit District on October 13th, at 6:45pm. All are welcome.
