Over 200 Attend the Library’s SUPER FEST Kick-off to Summer Reading
CORNWALL, NY – On Tuesday evening, June 29, the weather could not have been more inviting as 225 people gathered on the library lawn to take part in a successful Summer Reading kick-off event. “We signed-up 118 kids and teens for the Summer Reading program – one of our most successful sign-ups to date,” said Lisa SinClair of Youth Services. Parents and kids alike were having a great, engaged time as they made super hero capes, decorated masks and constructed super hero wallets. There were many feats of agility to endure – buildings to scale, towers to knock down, and battles to win. The staff heard many wonderful comments from parents who had as much fun as their children. Besides the many patrons attending, there were 12 teen volunteers who worked hard to make the event as fun as possible.
If you haven’t had a chance to register for the “Every Hero Has a Story” Summer Reading Program, it isn’t too late. Sign-ups will continue through the summer and there are many exciting events to attend from trivia nights to pop art extravaganzas. Just drop by the library and ask to become a reading super hero.
