New York State Police issued a press release on Saturday:
On Saturday May 23, 2015 the State Police located and removed a body from the Hudson River in the vicinity of the West Point Military Academy. Under the direction of the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office, the body was transported to the Orange County morgue where an autopsy will be performed. The investigation into this discovery remains ongoing. The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the Rockland County Sheriff's Department, and West Point Military Police.
The body is believed to be that of the missing kayaker Vincet Viafore, the missing kayaker who Police say was killed by his fiance Angelika Graswald. New York State Police along with Kevin Quigley of Quigley Brothers Funeral Home and Orange County Sheriff personnel remove the body for transport to the morgue. The body was brought to shore on the Orange County Sheriff's boat Marine 80 at Cornwall Yacht Club.
