Bone Hollow by Bill Braine |
By Emma Friedrich
CORNWALL, NY – On March 3rd Cornwall-on-the-Hudson based, Sloan Publishing’s new publishing imprint, Hudson Heartland Books announced the publication of its debut novel, Bone Hollow, by Cornwall’s own, Bill Braine.
Bone Hollow is a suspenseful, mystery, thriller, set in slightly fictionalized Hudson Heartland. It features a house hunting couple from Brooklyn, whose hunt turns terrifying when they discover two bodies on the property of the house of their dreams, and to make matters worse, the killer believes they know something about the crime.
Hudson Heartland draws its setting from real historic, social, and economic tones of the Hudson Valley region between the Catskills and the Highlands.
The Novel is available today in both paperback and e-book format at hudsonheartland.com and it will be available soon in bookstores.
However, Bone Hollow will not be the last of Hudson Heartland. According to Braine, he has a second novel in the works. He also has ideas for two more possible books, plus a possible three more with different themes. All of which would take place in Hudson Heartland, with some recurring characters and specific places.
Braine said, “There are so many stories that come out of the landscape, cities and people of the western Hudson Valley – so much history, so many unique currents – that if I had all the time in the world I wouldn’t be able to tell them all.” He hopes to write everything he can, but as he had said, his ambition probably exceeds his available time.
Join Bill Braine on Sunday, March 15th, at 4pm at 2 Alice’s Coffee Lounge, in Cornwall-on-the-Hudson, for Bone Hollow’s launch party. There will be coffee, book signings, and discussion about the region and how it inspired him to create Bone Hollow.
