Popular Theatre Day Camp Announces Summer Season
Step It Up Summer Stage and Step It Up Productions of Cornwall-on-Hudson will be producing two full length musicals through its theatre program this year. Shrek, The Musical will be Summer Stage’s first show of the season. Rehearsals begin Monday, June 29th and run through Friday, July 10th, when the first of two evening shows will be performed at the Walter Reade, Jr. Theatre at Storm King School. Camp hours are 10am-4pm and enrollment is open to ages 12-18. Shrek will be directed by Karen Eremin, choreographed by Rajon Miller and produced by Ronda Barber, with TJ Larke assisting with both directing and choreography.
For its second session, Summer Stage is proud to have secured the rights to the Tony award-winning pop/rock musical Spring Awakening. Enrollment is open to ages 17-22 and limited to a cast of 20. Auditions will be held Sunday, July 19th, with rehearsals staggered over the following three weeks to allow for older actors’ work schedules. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, August 7th and 8th at the Walter Reade. Spring Awakening will be co-directed by Eremin and Larke, with Barber producing and Max Finkelstein returning as Music Director.
