Roxanna M. Wescott of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2014 at Montgomery Nursing Home-Montgomery NY. She was 98 years old.
The daughter of Henry La Rose and Celia Mosher La Rose, Roxanna was born on March 11, 1916 in Smith Basin, NY.
Roxanna M. Wescott was a foster mother for over 55 children in Hudson Falls, NY.
She was an active member of the Cornwall United Methodist Church in Cornwall, Baptist Church of Hudson Falls NY, Pythian Sisters of Glens Falls, NY, United Job Core, Golden Age club of Cornwall, NY and also a volunteer with the Munger Cottage Nutrition Center in Cornwall.
Roxanna M. Wescott is survived by her son, George Westcott of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters: Margaret DeMarco of New Windsor, NY, Patricia Brayton of Queensbury, NY, Susan Kauffman of Pitsfield, MA and Nancy Wescott of Phoenix, NY; also many grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman O. Wescott (1959) and her son, Philip Westcott.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 18th at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY 12520. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 12 Noon on Monday, may 19th at Pineview Cemetery in Queensbury NY.
