On Monday night, June 17, the Cornwall-on-Hudson Board of Trustees met in Village Hall for the monthly Business meeting.
Towards the end of the meeting, Mayor Coyne provided an update on the status of the Bike & Hike program. As of now, Mayor Coyne has been told that the program most likely will not run this summer, although there are hopes that it will at least return in the fall.
According to Mayor Coyne, the program’s coordinator, Olga Anderson, cited a lack of volunteers as the main factor preventing the return of the program.
Mayor Coyne reminded everyone that this was not a Village program. As such, the decision regarding whether or not it will run is out of his hands.
During the meeting, the Board also approved a program to improve the safety of flights departing from Stewart Airport by managing the Canada Goose population in nearby areas, including Cornwall-on-Hudson. The Canada Goose often puts nearby planes at risk, and as of now, our area is overpopulated with the animals.
